Gesture Drawing

Gesture drawing a series of poses taken by a model in a short amount of time. The model may hold a pose for a few seconds or several minutes.
More generally, a gesture drawing may be any drawing which emphasizes action or movement.

The primary purpose of gesture drawings is to be able to study of the human figure in motion.
This exploration of action is helpful for the artist to better understand the functions of muscles, and acts as a starting point in drawing the human figure.

In this class we will look at live student models. We will also look at a slide projection of photographs of people in action. (All models are fully dressed and school appropriate at the high school level).
